Julche Schrama

Julche Schrama is a PhD candidate in the Department of Human Biology at Maastricht University, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gijs Goossens, Prof. Dr. Jeanine Prompers, and Prof. Dr. Ellen Blaak. Her research focuses on the metabolic impact of diet-induced weight loss in individuals with tissue-specific insulin resistance. She primarily investigates this through a human intervention study, employing a range of state-of-the-art metabolic assessment techniques, including the novel Deuterium Metabolic Imaging (DMI) technique. 

In 2021, Julche obtained her BSc in Applied Biology, with a specialization in Nutrition & Health. She subsequently completed her MSc in Nutrition & Health at Wageningen University, specializing in Nutritional Physiology and Health Status.
